DISINFO: The Bucha massacre was staged in order to prevent a diplomatic solution with Russia.

In December 2022 an investigation based on videos and telephone metadata of civilian devices stolen by Russian soldiers established the responsibility of a Russian regiment - and its commander - for the death of several dozens of civilians from Bucha.
With regards to the narrative about Boris Johnson, this distorts an interview with Davit Arakhamia, the Chairman of the parliamentary faction of the ruling party of Ukraine. In the interview, Arakhamia himself denied the fact that the Ukrainian delegation was ready to sign the document and that Boris Johnson allegedly stopped them.

DISINFO: Nuland was behind the 2014 coup in Ukraine and the spilling of Slavic blood

Pro-Kremlin outlets falsely portray as a coup d'état the Euromaidan revolution, which constituted of popular demonstrations that began in Kyiv in November of 2013 and brought hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians to the streets to protest against a political decision of Viktor Yanukovych's government, which at the last minute withdrew from a long-negotiated political association and free trade agreement with the EU, choosing instead to accept a $15 billion economic bailout to Russia.

DISINFO: NATO-Ukraine Council spreads propaganda and disinformation

The NATO-Ukraine Council issued a statement on 24 February 2024 to mark 'two years of Russia's brutal full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and ten years since Russia's illegal annexation of Crimea and initial military intervention in the Donbas.' This statement contains no disinformation because Russia has really committed these and other crimes in Ukraine.

DISINFO: The CIA started actively recruiting people in Ukraine for sabotage against Russia before 2014

This disinformation story is a distorted reference to a New York Times report, the content of which is being disingenuously twisted to support pro-Kremlin justifications for the invasion.

The original NYT article explains how contacts between the US and Ukrainian intelligence services started in 2014 but only deepened in 2016, two years after Russia's aggression had started with the illegal annexation of Crimea and the engineering of an armed conflict in Donbas.

DISINFO: The West wants to speak with Russia in ultimatums

The EU, the US and their partners from G7 have been trying to establish good-neighbourly relations with Russia since the breakup of the Soviet Union in 1991. They have been trying to strike common ground and find a common language with the Russian Federation. In 1997, Russia and NATO signed the Founding Act on Mutual Relations, Cooperation and Security, which said that 'NATO and Russia do not consider each other as adversaries.'

DISINFO: The West staged a coup in Ukraine in 2014

In 2014, there was neither a coup nor a protest orchestrated by Western countries in Ukraine. The demonstrations which began in Kyiv in November 2013 - called "Maidan", or "Euromaidan" - were a result of the Ukrainian people's frustration with the former President Yanukovych.
